What happens when three B2B events take place at Boston’s new $2.6 billion Encore hotel and casino? That’s the question we had when B2BSMX was announced this past spring.
Merging the FlipMyFunnel, DemandGen Summit and RevTalks into a new two-day B2BSMX event in Boston was the plan, and it worked! The event, based off of the larger B2B conference held in Phoenix earlier this year, brought in about 1,000 B2B marketers.
The new venue was intriguing. It’s as if Vegas was transported to the outskirts of Boston. The building is gold and glitzy–not exactly in the style of Paul Revere and the Freedom Trail, but somehow it works.
The event itself brought in both technologists and marketing leaders to share their stories around technology and ABM. For example, Paul Green shared how Extreme Networks is empowering its Sales team by creating a next generation account-based system leveraging numerous data sources. Great stuff!
On the ABM front, we got a chance to sit down with the Godfather of ABM himself, Sangram Vajre. Sangram talked about the evolution of ABM and how companies should consider using a combined ABM/Lead Gen approach. Sangram just published a new book book ABM is B2B that covers some of these latest trends.
Year 1 for B2BMX is in the books and we are already looking forward to what’s in store for next year.
